Whitehorn Bistro at the Lake Louise Summer Gondola

If you find yourself at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada one summer, we highly recommend taking the gondola to the top and eating at the Whitehorn Bistro.

Lake Louise Gondola Whitehorn Bistro

Located at 6700′ (2042m) the Whitehorn Bistro proudly offers a contemporary menu with alpine featured items and local products. Each of our fine offerings can be enjoyed inside the dining room, or out on the patio which boasts one of the most incredible panoramic mountain views anywhere.

Whitehorn Bistro

Whitehorn Bistro is located at the top of the Gondola, which does require the purchase of a Gondola ticket.

It’s not open all season, so be sure to check the dates and times below:

June 11 to Jun 17: 10:00am – 3:30pm
Jun 18 to Jul 31: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Aug 1 to Sept 3: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Sept 4 to Oct 7: 10:00am – 3:00pm

We went in August and it was perfection. There was still a dusting of snow on the mountains and the temperature was quite comfortable.

What We Ate at Whitehorn Bistro

Vegan Stir Fry, Price: 25

Description of Ingredients: rice noodles, tempura tofu, chinese broccoli, red peppers, shitake mushrooms, snap peas, heirloom carrots, green herbs, thai coconut sauce

My sons had this and they devoured it. It was one of the best stir-fries they’ve ever had. The ingredients were fresh and seasoned well.

Fish of the Day: Ahi Tuna, Price: 25

This plate was as delicious as it is beautiful. The tuna and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Ask for the fish of the day and if it’s Ahi Tuna, I highly recommend it.

Heirloom Tomato and Basil Salad, Price: 11

Our daughter enjoyed this salad with a cocktail. The salad included arugula, goat cheese, candied pecans, and maple-dijon dressing.

Not pictured is what Todd had, which was their Seafood Chowder. It was so good, I didn’t have time to snap a picture. 🙂
