A warm drink and camping go hand in hand, especially when fall hits and the temperatures start to dip. For you chocolate lovers, these easy hot chocolate recipes are perfect for those camping and RV trips.

Different Ways to Heat Up Water While Camping & RVing

Here are some of the best methods for boiling water while camping:

  • Use a Jetboil, which boils water in just over two minutes with half the fuel consumption of traditional systems. 
  • Use an outdoor kettle like this Kelly Kettle which boils water in minutes using whatever fuel is naturally occurring in the area.
  • Use a camping stove and outdoor kettle to heat up water. It takes a bit longer than the options above, but the stove is obviously useful for meals as well.
  • If you’re car camping or want something as minimal as possible, this car kettle heats up water using the cigarette lighter.

If you’re RVing, you could use any of the methods above or use an electric kettle, which is my favorite way to heat up water for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, ramen, etc. Here are a few electric kettle options:
