New portable power station from BougeRV

TREKKN Review: BougeRV Portable Power Station

As full-time RVers with 500 amp hours of Battleborn batteries in our motorhome, we rarely have to think about power.  But we recently bought a cabin in Colorado, and have started parking the motorhome in storage for the summer.  As people who are used to having everything we need with us at all times, the idea of car or tent camping feels a bit daunting.

As we prepared for our summer of tent camping in beautiful Colorado, we tested a Bouge RV Fort 1000 portable power station.  This power station gives us peace of mind that we can handle whatever we get ourselves into.

We planned to use the power station for charging laptops, phones, and our portable fridge.  And after a summer of testing it, here’s what we think.

Review of BougeRV Fort 1000

A lot of what you’re paying for with one of these portable power stations is the battery.  That’s why we love that the BougeRV Fort 1000 has a built-in BMS system.  Therefore, the battery (the most valuable part of the power station) is safeguarded so you can’t overload it, and don’t have to worry about doing so.

Well Designed for Use with Portable Fridge

The biggest charge we intended for our Fort 1000 was our portable car fridge.  And luckily, this Bouge RV power station is specifically designed to power a fridge like ours.

Thus, it runs continuously, without interruption, so that your food will never spoil.  We had no issues running our portable fridge for long weekend camping trips this summer.

Long-Lasting with Multi-Year Warranty

Other things we love about our Fort 1000 include the 7-year warranty and the 3500 lifecycle lifespan.  We always like to purchase long-lasting products, not only for our wallets but also for the planet.  We’re glad to know our power station is going to last a long time.  Also, the LED screen is easy to see and use.  We love having all of the information available from state of charge to error messages.

Great as a Backup for Integrated RV Power System

As we pack up the motorhome to head out on the road again this winter, we’re packing our new BougeRV Fort 1000 to go with us.  We’re excited to have the power station as a backup to our integrated power system in the motorhome.

If anything goes wrong with our solar power system while we’re out in the motorhome, it’s nice to know that we will have the Fort 1000 charged up and ready to power our most important devices.

BougeRV offers a full line of Portable Power Stations for your off-grid needs

Looking even further ahead, we plan to use our BougeRV Fort 1000 during our next RV or campervan adventure.  We know that our next, smaller RV or van likely will not have a full solar setup when we buy it.

This portable power station will enable us to go off-grid right away with any new RV we end up with.

So whether you are a tent camper, or live in a motorhome, a portable power station may be something to add to your arsenal.  We think it’s a great tool, and we’re excited to continue using ours.
