Haviland Lake Campground

Located on the shores of Haviland Lake within the San Juan National Forest, the Haviland Lake Campground offers 43 campsites for RVs and tents. The park is situated amongst Ponderosa Pine trees that provide wonderful shade cover.

You can enjoy waking up to the spectacular views of Hermosa Cliffs. There are many opportunities in the area for outdoor adventure. Choose from canoeing, fishing (license required), hiking, or horseback riding, among many others.

There is easy access to Forebay Lake trailhead from the campground.

Fishing

Haviland Lake, an 80-acre, no-wake lake, offers fantastic fishing opportunities. Anglers will have a great time casting for rainbow and brown trout. Be sure to purchase a Colorado Division of Wildlife fishing license in advance.

HTR Durango Campground

Camping Season

During season, HTR offers full hookup camping. However, only dry camping is available from May 1st until around May 15th and again during the last two weeks of October. Dry camping is for RVs only (no tents or cabins).

Formerly known as Lightner Creek Campground, HTR Durango is situated off HWY 160W near a beautiful mountain stream. It’s a perfect base camp for outdoor enthusiasts ready for a summer filled with great hiking, horseback riding, river rafting, rock climbing, or mountain biking.

Located about six miles from historic downtown Durango, you will also have quick access to shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing.

Pet Policy

You may bring up to two pets per site. Please ensure your pets are on leash when not inside your RV or camper. Enjoy the onsite pet park.
