While some areas are restricted to tents, most of the campgrounds in and near Yosemite National Park allow motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. As with most things in life, especially when it comes to our choice of activities and lifestyle, the things one person considers best are not always the top choice for another person. Accordingly, our list includes a range of options, including smaller remote parks as well as campgrounds with a full list of comfort amenities.
There are many more campgrounds in the area, but this list is centered around RV compatible parks.

What to Know about Yosemite Campground Reservations
First off, you should know that getting a reservation in Yosemite is hard. These campsites are in high demand and reservations are typically fully booked within minutes of becoming available.
If you plan on staying at one of the campgrounds within the park, it’s important to know the following facts about booking an RV campsite reservation.

Golden Pine RV Motorcoach Resort
Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and surrounded by Stanislaus National Forest, Golden Pine RV Park (now Golden Pine RV Motorcoach Resort) is located in a stunning location with exceptional opportunities for anyone who loves outdoor adventure. There is an abundance of hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and other activities in and near the campground.

Hodgdon Meadow Campground
On your way to Hodgdon, consider stopping in Groveland, a quaint town located approximately 24 miles from the park entrance. While there you can enjoy live outdoor music, wine tasting, and quaint shopping.
From the campground, take Evergreen Road off Highway 120 to Hetch Hetchy Road for numerous day hikes and stunning views of Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Access the Wapama and Rancheria Fall trailhead for moderate-level up and downhill hikes of up to 14 miles round-trip.

Like most of the campgrounds in and near Yosemite, Hodgdon Meadow is sparse on amenities. This is a place for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy the natural outdoors. Trailheads for Merced Grove and Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias are located within a short drive from Hodgdon Meadow.
RV Sites Overview
There are just over 100 sites that allow camping in a tent, RV, camper van, car, trailer, or truck camper. To ensure your vehicle will fit, double check (then check again) the length limits when booking your reservation at Hodgdon Meadow Campground.
I suggest reviewing the site map before reservations open up. Make a list of your preferred sites that will accommodate your equipment. Have that list on hand when you’re ready to book your reservation.
Indian Flat RV Park
A Yosemite Resorts campground, Indian Flat RV Park is located near Yosemite Valley. In addition to RV sites, the campground offers tent sites, cabins, and cottages.
While there are more amenities compared to many of the national campgrounds located within Yosemite Park, you should be aware of the fee structure at Indian Flat. You will incur a fee for pets, an additional vehicle, use of the dump station, showers, and wi-fi. There is an upside. Since it’s not all inclusive, I do not pay for services I do not use.

North Pines Campground
Take the shuttle bus to view the incredible reasons Yosemite is one of the most visited national parks in the country. Head to Glacier Point for panoramic views of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and Nevada Falls.
Another popular option is to enjoy a scenic drive along Tioga Road. You will experience stunning sights of natural grand meadows, lakes, and granite domes. Pack a picnic lunch and soak in all the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada countryside.
North Pines, which is close to Mirror Lake and offers views of Half Dome, is a great place for photography enthusiasts and hikers to set up a perfect base camp.

You can take the shuttle to nearby Curry Village. The historic area offers a general store, showers, restaurants, and an activities center.
RV Sites Overview
The campsites are quiet, which allows you to enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river and experience wildlife sightings.
Thousand Trails Yosemite Lakes
This year-round campground is a great option for those of you who will be traveling outside of the summer months. It offers spacious campsites and nearby hiking trails, fishing, and other outdoor adventure activities.

Thousand Trails Yosemite Lakes offers various ways to stay, including cabins, tent sites, and RV sites. There are plenty of amenities and activities onsite. Everyone in your group should find something to stay busy and enjoy.
RV Sites Overview
There are over 250 full hookup RV sites as well as tent sites, cabins, and yurts. Rates listed for RV sites are for four people. You will incur a fee for each additional person. A limited number of 45-foot sites are available.

Tuolumne Meadows Campground
Notice
Tuolumne is closed through 2024 for rehabilitation work at the campground. Mark your calendars to stay up to date on this campground so you can reserve a site once it reopens.
This is a beautiful area to set up your home base. Hiking trails include Soda Springs and Parsons Lodge, Lyell Canyon via the John Muir Trail, and Glen Aulin. You can also enjoy swimming followed by an afternoon picnic at Tenaya Lake.

Upper Pines Campground
Here are the highway routes to get to Upper Pines Campground:
Of the three campgrounds within Yosemite Valley available for reservation, Upper Pines is the largest. The roads are paved and there is a free shuttle bus stop at the entrance. Take the shuttle to Curry Village, which offers a general store, restaurants, and an information service center for activities.
Enjoy all the natural beauty of Yosemite Valley where you can experience Ponderosa pine and California black oak trees, granite cliffs, and the extraordinary Merced River. The river is highly acclaimed for its beauty and a great place for water sports activities, including rafting, gold-panning, and fishing.

The Upper Pines Campground offers 211 campsites for RV camping.

White Wolf Campground
Despite the limited amenities of this campground, we include White Wolf Campground on our best-of list because if you’re looking to be surrounded by the great outdoors and beauty of the Sierra Nevada, this may be a great spot for you.
You will have easy access to hiking trails to Lukens Lake, Harden Lake, and the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne. In addition, the Crane Flat, which offers an incredible 3-mile roundtrip hike to experience the Merced Groves of Giant Sequoias and Tuolumne Meadows is located approximately 20 miles west of the campground.

There are limited facilities available at White Wolf and what is available onsite is seasonal, typically open from July through September. Call the campground in advance to confirm what amenities are available during your stay.
RV Sites Overview
Full hook-ups are not available. There are no water, sewer, or electric hookups at White Wolf campsites.
Yosemite RV Resort
Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, approximately 25 miles from the south entrance of Yosemite National Park, this pet-friendly campground offers a variety of accommodation options, including RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and yurts.
