Yosemite Campgrounds Reservations

We crafted this list of the top RV parks and campgrounds based on the firsthand experiences of our travel team. In addition, we consider amenities offered, campground ratings, and feedback from our RV and camping enthusiast friends.

As with most things in life, especially when it comes to our choice of activities and lifestyle, the things one person considers best are not always the top choice for another person. Accordingly, our list includes a range of options, including smaller remote parks as well as campgrounds with a full list of comfort amenities.

There are many more campgrounds in the area, but this list is centered around RV compatible parks.

Please let us know if there are other parks you think should be on this list that will help our readers as they travel to see the breathtaking Yosemite National Park.

What to Know about Yosemite Campground Reservations

First off, you should know that getting a reservation in Yosemite is hard. These campsites are in high demand and reservations are typically fully booked within minutes of becoming available.

If you plan on staying at one of the campgrounds within the park, it’s important to know the following facts about booking an RV campsite reservation.

  • Reservations are required. You will not find a first-come, first-served campground during peak season.
  • You must be logged into your account to finalize a reservation. For the best chance of securing a reservation, create your login at Recreation, the federal park’s reservation system, in advance.
  • The reservation system will only allow you to book up to two reservations at campgrounds within Yosemite National Park per transaction.
  • A maximum of 14 nights is allowed during the peak season, which runs from May through September 14.
  • You are limited to a total of 30 nights per calendar year across all 13 campgrounds within Yosemite.
  • Adhere to the listed maximum allowable RV or trailer length limits of the selected campsite. If your vehicle length is too long you may not be able to maneuver windy access roads. In addition, you will be prohibited from using the RV campsite if all wheels do not fit onto the parking pad.

Road Conditions

Call 209-372-0200 for road conditions within Yosemite National Park and 1-800-427-ROAD for conditions outside of the park.
